* Now talking on #N49RF * Topic for #N49RF is: N49RF RULES!! * Topic for #N49RF set by paulf at Tue Feb 15 10:39:09 2011 * You are now known as n49jess hello john, JGamache-HRD Hi n49jess Do you prefer me chatting on n49rf or sed 49, so not to bbother 43 mission chatter, tho i don't see anyone from 43 up I know. I'm surprised. I think trying to get radar part is holding them up, even though that is not the NHC priority. :( hope they get it sorted out and get the mission off well original plan still look good to u? * R3_AUX (AAMPS@10.10.16.22) has joined #N49RF * R3_AUX is now known as Gabe Do you get a regular feed on the aircraft of 88D. I stumbled on wunderground.com radar site, and it is so much better than the NOAA one. I think that will still work for now, although that line is moving toward the West and is nearly 50 nm to north of 88D now. There is a separate area of convection just to the west of the 88D that may also end up being a target. As long as we are not worrying about Doppler radials we will have a lot more freedom. * n49rf_fd (N49RF@10.10.1.21) has joined #N49RF Are both you and Rich flying? Is Rich the FD? * n49rf_fd is now known as n49rf_FD-Rich Answered my question Flightaware hasn't shown a flight plan filed yet for 49. Is it just behind? yea.. .we are eyeing up that area just west of miami now since that first line as you said is moving nearly outta 50nm range of 88D. yes :) we use http://radar.weather.gov/lite/N0R/AMX_loop.gif because of our slow bandwidth. also http://radar.weather.gov/lite/NET/AMX_loop.gif for echo tops If I were to choose the send area of interest I was talking about. I might suggest 350/170 over the 88D. This would work too. Okay. I'll use wundergound...maybe that is what Jack was using. It has a lot of buttons for different elevation angles and echo top. ok, that makes sense, to target the stuff W - SW of miami? tracks centered over miami 350/170 Yes. Because it's not Doppler radials we will do the best at making the averaged beam volumes from both analyses match, after the fact. If that line slowly moves west, 49 can too. ok that sounds great, we'll update the pilots on the new plan, powering up stuff now Paul Reasor is also on monitoring from home. ok, thanks. pilots say that 350/170 tracks centered over miami should work pretty well, and gradually moving the tracks west as the wx moves west Right now there are also pop up cells to the northeast of that area of convection that might need to be avoided. We'll just have to keep monitoring. N49jess -- How long is N49 flight today?? Gabe Gamache-HRD ok Gamache-HRD , thank you. having some issues up front and in the back being worked, will keep you updated. kristy, 3-4 hours Ok. * PaulR_Home has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * Gamache-HRD has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * JGamache-HRD has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * tml_Home has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * nickmorg has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * kristy has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * dan has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * aocbot1 has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * groundbot has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * jroles has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * aocbot2 has quit (n49rf.seb.noaa.gov flightscience.noaa.gov) * PaulR_Home (Paul_R_HRD@weston-69.65.86.180.myacc.net) has joined #N49RF * Gamache-HRD (jfgmiami@inferno.aoml.noaa.gov) has joined #N49RF * JGamache-HRD (jgamachehr@166.137.9.141) has joined #N49RF * tml_Home (terryl_hom@user-142ghl5.cable.mindspring.com) has joined #N49RF * jroles (jim.h.role@205-156-36-1.ssmcnet.noaa.gov) has joined #N49RF * nickmorg (nickmorg@205-156-36-1.ssmcnet.noaa.gov) has joined #N49RF * kristy (kristy.l.w@205-156-36-1.ssmcnet.noaa.gov) has joined #N49RF * dan (Terry@205-156-36-1.ssmcnet.noaa.gov) has joined #N49RF * groundbot (groundbot@localhost) has joined #N49RF * aocbot1 (aocbot1@localhost) has joined #N49RF * aocbot2 (aocbot2@localhost) has joined #N49RF hi JGamache-HRD , ok things are resolved, we'll be taking starting engines shortly Ok Jess. Great n49jess. still looking pretty good for ~ 350/170 legs over mia That whole area is now starting to move pretty quick to the NW, n49jess ok. hopefully we can get some legs in using miami. we could consider using MLB. just don't want to really be flying legs ahead of the storms esp at lower altitudes It is starting to look like you might be able to fly SE of the convection moving away from the KAMX radar, and put yourself between receding weather and KAMX, n49jess. * paulf (paulf@199.2.126.188) has left #N49RF (Leaving) hi John...Jess is up front with the pilots but that is our plan Glad we're thinking alike n49rf_FD-Rich sounds good Gamache-HRD , pilots are ok with that as well sounds like we'll be doing the legs at FL280 Ok. Sounds goo. good u see us on flight aware? Yes. Out to sea approaching Ft. Myers. cool! yep hdg 110 crossing over south oke lake 65NM from AMX You're over Lake Okeechobee? I guess there is more delay than I thought n49jess delay in flightaware yea. i'll give ya updates. now hdg 160 and 60nm from mia 88D Great. in a few, i think we'll start some approximate N-S legs, squeezing in between the 88D and weather. ATC is being very friendly Glad to hear it n49jess 40nm and now heading 190, 88D is 30nm away I think once you come around the S side of convection you may be able to do something more like 225-45 and just follow the weather away from KAMX now we'll aim for keeping the targets 10-20NM from us to paint on TDR. ok, sounds good john great ok now hdg 215 15nm from 88d 225 :) Nice. left turn reve045rse track to ah, reverse to 045 Great.
